Aimee Wells Quin, the founder of West Berkeley Wellness, is a licensed Acupuncturist and clinical Herbalist with a Masterʼs of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from ACTCM, one of the leading Chinese medical schools in the country. She has been a licensed health care practitioner since 1998 and has been serving Bay Area residents since 1999. Her deep commitment to providing the very best for her patients fuels her habit of constantly attending continuing education courses and expanding her knowledge base.
During her individualized treatments, Aimee pulls from her diverse knowledge of restoring and optimizing health. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics and Pre-Medicine at UC Davis, 1200 hours of training in therapeutic massage at the Hawaiian Islands School of Body Therapies, she is a trained doula, and she did post-graduate work in internal medicine at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. She extends her boundless gratitude to her mentor, Dr. Robert Levine, for showing her how to bring compassion, humor, and intelligence into every treatment.
Grace Hung is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Herbalist. She earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences in Oakland. Grace has been an intern with Robert Levine L.Ac., studying TCM diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases. She has also been a student with Liu Ming, studying Chinese cosmology, physiology, and seasonal cycles. Her background in visual arts and practice of classical yoga and martial arts inform her Traditional Chinese Medicine practice as well.
Grace is committed to helping others become present in their lives, and appreciates Traditional Chinese Medicine for its ability to assist in the natural process of transformation. Incorporating the unique expression of health and disease for each patient, she assists patients in finding and living their healthy, normal state. Grace specializes in treating digestion, sleeping, and breathing issues, and treats patients in both preventative and acute/chronic situations.
Jean-Louis Richiardone is a licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist with a Masters degree from ACTCM, the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California. Jean-Louis has been a licensed healthcare practitioner since 2005, and has been serving communities in the Bay Area since 2006.
He brings to his current practice extensive clinical experience as a New York licensed Massage Therapist, and from graduate and post-graduate internships at hospitals and medical clinics such as the California Pacific Medical Hospital (Division of Post Surgery Rehabilitation), the Haight Ashbury Medical Clinic, and the prestigious Chengdu Hospital of TCM, in Chengdu, China. He also served as an acupuncturist aboard the Holland America Line, M.S. Zuiderdam, and provided over 800 treatments for conditions ranging from acute and chronic pain and illness, to weight management and everything in between. Through his practice, Jean-Louis commits to empowering his patients to reach their health goals the natural way, using safe, gentle and time honored healing traditions.
Christy Mahoney, licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, graduated from ACTCM in 2002 and has been practicing since 2003. Christy has post-graduate training in women’s health, fertility, and pregnancy support. In 2008, she became an American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine fellow, a certification for acupuncturists specializing in reproductive medicine.
Christy’s approach to healing mirrors the basic principles of TCM: if a person’s body and lifestyle are in balance, then one will experience a sense of health and well-being. She understands that healing often needs to happen on many levels, and coaches patients to make appropriate modifications in diet and lifestyle to support optimal health. In addition to reproductive medicine, Christy is also an expert at treating acute or chronic pain, digestive disorders, and stress related imbalances. She is also an experienced Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal organ massage) practitioner, a beneficial adjunct to acupuncture for fertility and digestive complaints. A Reiki Master since 2003, Christy is also skilled at hands on energy healing.
Marny Culpepper, owner at Culpepper Acupuncture, is thrilled to be practicing at West Berkeley Wellness. She specializes in women’s health, fertility and pain management. In addition to her master’s degree, Marny has participated in extensive training, including an internship focused on orthopedic tui na, oncology, and pain management in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, P.R. China and an apprenticeship of clinical cases with Dr. Jennifer Ashby specializing in fertility and gynecology at the Lotus Center in San Francisco, California.
Marny is absolutely committed to providing the best possible care to each and every patient. She believes she is uniquely suited to treat others, because she herself has benefited from the therapeutic qualities of Chinese medicine. “The ability to support others in doing the same is a gift that I am grateful for.” When she is not treating patients she is usually hitting up a local farmers market, squeezing in a jog at the dog park, or taking a long, winding road trips up the coast to revitalize herself.
